A Beacon School, which has been awarded a certificate of excellence two years
running and holds Investors in People status.
Stable pupil numbers with very little mobility or exclusion
Pupils ethnic background has changed very little in recent years. Currently AC
= 20%, MR = 3%, AF = 2%, WE = 2%, ABEN = 11%, APAK = 13%, IND =
45% OTH = 4%.









A wholly inclusive school that celebrates its diversity throughout the year with a
range of assemblies, a variety of visitors to support a range of curricular areas
and regular educational visits.
All pupils are set challenging targets consistent with the schools’ high
expectations. They are supported by a well-planned, balanced curriculum and
delivered by an effective staff team with the help of excellent resources.
A self-evaluating school, which rigorously evaluates assessment data, monitors
performance and provides appropriate intervention to support pupil achievement.
An Accelerated Learning Programme is well established and a wide range of
Out of Hours Learning activities take place. Provision is made for Gifted and
Talented pupils as well as those with SEN.
Pupils are encouraged and supported to take roles of responsibility. An active
school council is in place.
All pupils wear school uniform and are provided with a full homework
timetable.
A range of reward strategies are used to promote high standards of behaviour
and, when necessary, appropriate sanctions are taken. Parent’s support and
involvement is welcomes.
School management and Governors share a vision of success and excellent for
all pupils.

School continues to meet challenging targets, maintain or improve on excellent
KS2 results.




Comparative data e.g. National, LEA and similar schools league tables are very
favourable.
Staff attendance is consistently very high and pupil’s attendance is good and
continues to improve.
Self review and regular monitoring supports the schools vision of success and
excellence.
Positive feedback from external assessors e.g. OFSTED, HMI, National and
International visitors as well as parents, community and pupils.
