Asotin Junior High Band Classroom Rules Quiet in class when: the conductor is talking, between playing. Stop when the conductor stops When the baton is up, be ready to play Have music and instrument ready to play 3 minutes after the bell rings. Be in your seat when the bell rings. Time To Teach methods will be used in music classes (refocus) No food or drink in the band room. No cell phones. Grading 1/3 Positive attitude (in class, at performances, while traveling) 1/3 In class participation and preparation 1/3 Performances – co-curricular activities have a direct effect on your grade (Miss a performance unexcused- drop a letter grade) Award At the spring concert/awards night, students will receive a medallion, or pin. (A 95% show up rate to events must be maintained to get this award, plus a good attitude) Performances As a member of junior high band, Asotin students participate in concert band, pep band, and marching band. Spring and fall concerts, music festivals, and public performances happen each year. **You must turn in a blue slip and tell the director when you are going to be gone** Officers All officers must perform their duty to receive and award. Officers who do not do their duty will be replaced with the person who had the next highest votes. President – advisor to instructor – run meetings – thank you cards – correspondence Vice president – scrap book – publicity – thank you cards if president is not available Secretary – stamp music – copy music – distribute music in class – collect music Treasurer – collect student money for fund raisers – shirts.
