MANDATORY ALTERNATE ASSIGNMENTS AND ACTIVITIES
FOR BAND STUDENTS THAT ARE INELIGIBLE TO COMPETE IN
MARCHING CONTESTS AND ATTEND FOOTBALL GAMES
Students enrolled in the band program are required to attend all scheduled performances and
contests as part of their grade. AAA rules prohibit students from attending football games and
contests that make a grade lower than 70% in any class. Those students are required to do
alternate activities and assignments in order to make-up missed performances and contests.
Because of their inability to participate in scheduled marching band performances those students
must be pulled out of the marching show. Students will also be required to attend after-school
tutorials in lieu of attending band performances and rehearsals, until a time where they regain
eligibility upon grade-check time. When tutorials are over, those students are expected to go
home to complete homework, incomplete class work, or study for upcoming tests. Students
should take note that if they fail to show an ability to pass and maintain eligibility, they face
possible expulsion from the band program.
The activities and assignments listed below will act as substitutions for those publicized
performances and contests and rehearsals.
