The 12 th Grade will convene in the Gymnasium today for the Class Meeting.

Principal’s Expectations

Attached to both the electronic and paper Bulletin, you will find the Principal’s Expectations for certificated staff. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Kappenhagen. Please pay particular attention to updating your School Loop profile and grade book at minimum once per week. Parents, family members, and students constantly provide feedback to the administration on how they appreciate being able to check in on their progress.

Quiet Time General Principle

Everyone is doing a great job with Quiet Time! Thanks so much for all of your patience as new-to-Burton students are getting accustomed to it. You need additional support, please see Jamie or Laura in the Bungalow.

Classroom Checklist

Attached to the electronic Bulletin is the Classroom Checklist that we ask all teachers to follow through on in organizing classroom space. It is important that our students have classroom environments that are appropriate and safe. It is also important that our students have classrooms in which expectations of their behavior and academic progress is displayed throughout the room. Please bring your questions to your department head.

Common Planning Time—Wednesday, September 9th

In preparation for our Wednesday CPT furthering our Access and Equity Conversations on Race, Implicit Bias, and

Stereotype Threat, please be reminded that we all had “homework” to complete. In the event that you cannot find the articles that were distributed, they are attached to the e-Bulletin. We will meet promptly in rooms 118 and 116 at 1:30 pm.

Cell Phone Reminders for Teachers

Teachers please remember to not allow students to charge their phones in your classrooms. Our mantra is out of sight; out of sound. Additionally, in allowing students to charge their phones in the classrooms, it because both a distraction for the student as well as an opportunity for potential theft. Additionally, please make sure all of your valuables are secured.

Hallway Passing and Issuing Passes to Students

Please remember that students should remain in class the first and last 10 minutes of class. Please refrain from issuing passes to Wellness, lockers, restroom, etc. unless it is an emergency. If you send a student to Wellness please call first and then issue a pass.

Club Rush Day

Many kudos to the Associated Student Body for pulling off a really successful and fun Club Rush event last week. We especially appreciated the teachers who joined in on the fun by setting up a table, sponsoring a club, or just came down to enjoy the sunshine with students.
