WEDNESDAY WEEKLY
November 30, 2011
Greetings ILM Families,
I hope you enjoyed a peaceful, delicious, restful and fun holiday. The transition back into
school has been a joyful one for some students, and a struggle for others, but we are settling
back in for a few full weeks of school before our next break. We said farewell to Greg and
Jackson Wolcott as they moved on to Georgia Elementary School, and we welcomed back
Emmalee Henderson to Ms. Bloxham’s class.
Tomorrow are picture retakes for anyone who would like a new school picture taken. In
order to have a retake, parents need to contact Barb Larvey at school by 8:00 a.m. at 9283231.
There are many events coming up! Below are the details. Please join us for as many of these
events as you can.

NUTRITION MONDAY
Next Monday afternoon, ILMES will be traveling to the Alburgh school to participate in a lively
assembly of song and dance on the topic of nutrition. If you’d like to learn more about the
show, you can visit http://foodplay.com/live-shows/foodplay/ for a clip from the show. We are
also enclosing in your Wednesday Weekly packet a list of nutrition suggestions for families. I
decided to pick one idea from the list to improve my daughter’s nutrition. I encourage each
ILM family to do the same, and then these changes at home can fuel ongoing conversations
about nutrition at school.
PARENT CONFERENCES
Our parent conference days are December 8 & 9. Please return your time preference sheet
to your classroom teacher as soon as possible so that we can create our schedules. Report
cards will be issued during the conferences. We look forward to seeing all of you so that we
can discuss your child’s progress in school. These are half-days for students, and they will
have lunch at school.
HOLIDAY FAIR
Come on out to enjoy food and crafts at the annual Holiday Fair on Saturday. There will be
delicious soups and grilled sandwiches to enjoy, along with the handmade products of many
Isle La Motte residents. If you have the energy, you can go island hopping and visit the other
craft fairs occurring throughout the islands on that day.
CLOTHING SWAP NEEDS DONATIONS & SHOPPERS
This year at the ILM Holiday Fair we will have a clothing swap. We are collecting donations
of clean clothes in good condition for adults and children – please drop them off at the school
by Friday. We will then sell them at great prices and send the proceeds to the food shelf at
Grand Isle. What a nice opportunity to refresh your closet and support the community at the
same time!
“SEASON’S GREETINGS” FEATURES ALL STUDENTS
Once again all our students will be performing in a production featuring the themes of the
season. Bring your cameras and enjoy the sounds and sights of the children of Isle La Motte
celebrating the season with music and more.
