Principal’s Message
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New
Year! I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable break.
Report Cards
The students all received their report cards before the holiday
break and overall the students did exceptionally well.
Congratulations to those students who achieved marks which put
them on the Principal’s, High Honors and Honors Lists for their
work first term. A total of 85 students (53%) have received these
honors. Their achievements will be posted in the front hallway of
the school as well as attached to this newsletter. We are very
proud of the successes of all the students this term and look
forward to adding more names to the honors lists next term.
Congratulations!!!

Anxiety – the “new” normal – The SAC of Caledonia Junior
High has arranged a presentation at the Prince Andrew High
School AV room for parents of the PA Family of Schools.
Anxiety is a topic that is coming up from elementary age right
through to high school. Dr. Daniel Chorney will be addressing the
importance of anxiety in our lives and the skill development that
kids need in order to manage everyday anxieties. Many parents
Phone: 435-8325

today are sheltering their kids to the point that they rarely need to
face stressful situations and therefore not developing independent
skills in dealing with anxieties associated with those situations.
These can be around test anxieties, assignment/presentation
avoidance, social anxieties and even total school avoidance. Dr.
Chorney will be offering a 50 min informational PowerPoint
followed by a 30-40 min fishbowl open question period (no oneon-one questions due to potential confidentiality concerns).
This presentation will be held on Thursday, Feb 5 at 7:00 p.m.
at the PAHS auditorium

view of the world and to help them appreciate the challenges
young people face growing up in other parts of the world. The
students will be participating in workshops, listening to speakers
and learning about the wider global community. More details will
be given to the Grade 7 students before the conference. If you
have any questions please contact Mr. Ingram pingram@hrsb.ca
