School Board Presentations
Congratulations to Georgia Latta, Emma Richardson, Tara Treagus, Chanelle Mobius and to Theo Wong who
spoke to the Trustees and the District Leadership Team at this week’s Board Meeting. Their presentations
represented the innovative learning we engage in at Caulfeild. The presentations were entitled “The Fine Art
of Digital Art” and “Grade Three Robots Go to Mars”
Student Led Conferences
Student Led Conferences will take place on Wednesday, April 29th. Dismissal will be at 1:30 p.m. to
accommodate the meetings. To sign up for a time slot, please use the sign up sheets outside the school office
starting Wednesday April 22nd.
PAC Meeting April 22
All parents are invited to attend the next PAC Meeting. It will be held in the PAC Lounge at the school at
8:50am on Wednesday, April 22. Come on in and hear the Spring Fling wrap up, as well as Mr. Cantlie's
proposed wish list in preparation for our AGM next month. The minutes from our last session, as well as our
proposed agenda are in the attachments. Be there to hear what's going on first hand!
ELL Café next Thursday
On Thursday, April 23 at 1:45pm, Ms. Prout and Mr. Cantlie will host another opportunity for parents to come
together. The workshop will include information about year end procedures at Caulfeild. Ms. Prout will also be
talking about how you can help your child with their writing at home. This session will be held in the library,
coffee and snacks will be provided. All are welcome to attend!
Spring Fling this Saturday, April 18
Looking forward to seeing you at the CAULFEILD CRUSH SPRING FLING on Saturday night at the West
Vancouver Yacht Club!

THE DOOR.
Don't forget to drop off your Wine Donation in the PAC room by Friday afternoon - every bottle helps!
Can't make it to the event? You can still BID on Auction Items via email before the event. See pg 29 of the
brochure for details.
Also, the Fund-a-Need Board will be back at the school on Monday morning if you wish to make a donation.

Caulfeild at the Lighthouse Festival
Caulfeild Intermediate Choir and Band will be performing on Tuesday, April 21 at 11 a.m. as part of this year’s
Lighthouse Festival. The performance will be held by the food court in Park Royal South.
Primary Spring Choir with Ms. Berardinucci and Mrs. McCartney
All students in Grades 1, 2, and 3 who love to sing are invited to join the Primary Spring Choir! Students will
learn a song to sing at the Parent Volunteer Tea, which will take place on Wednesday, May 27th at 10:15 in
the school library. Rehearsals will begin on Tuesday, April 28th. There will be 5 rehearsals: April 28th, May
5th, Math 12th, May 19th, and May 26th. All rehearsals will take place from 2:45-3:15 in the Music Room.
School District 45 Summer Learning Registration Opens May 1
School District 45 is offering elementary programs from July 7th to July 24th, Monday to Friday between 8:45
am and 12:00 pm at Ridgeview Elementary. New and exciting learning opportunities at the primary level are
being offered this year, including courses focused on literacy and numeracy, as well as a course focused on the
transition between grades 3 and 4. Please visit the Summer Learning website for course descriptions and

EduPac School Supplies – 2015/2016 School Year - Grades 1-7
It is time to order school supplies for the upcoming school year! Once again, the Caulfeild PAC has partnered
with EduPac to offer this service. Ordering will be done completely ONLINE through the EduPac website. No
forms/payment will be collected through the school office or Caulfeild PAC.
Caulfeild teachers have selected the items and quantities for the grade specific packages. For those who wish
to purchase supplies on your own, supply lists are now available on the Caulfeild website and in the
attachments.
To order supplies through EduPac, please follow the following process:

Click on your child’s grade level for 2015/2016

If you wish to order, the deadline is April 27, 2015. Orders will be delivered to Caulfeild the week of June 8. If
you order after this date, you must arrange for pick up or delivery directly through EduPac. Questions can be

The West Vancouver Children’s Literature Festival is a partnership between the West Vancouver Memorial
Library and the West Vancouver School District. As part of the festival, Grade 2, Grade 5 and secondary school
classes will be invited to attend presentations at the Kay Meek Centre by National Book Award winner and
four-time Newbery Honor winner Jacqueline Woodson and best-selling picture book artist Ashley Spires. The
library also offers several free events for kids and families from May 2-9. For more information on these library

SD 45 Ignite Your Passion (Grades 4/5)
Is your child looking for a different way to extend their learning? What about going beyond the regular
classroom and doing that extra piece and going deeper? This coming fall, the Ignite Your Passion (IYP)
program will be expanding its course offerings to include the following 6 courses:
 Bridges Art and Design
 Connecting Youth Through Dance
 Entrepreneurship
 Ready, Set, Spike (volleyball)
 Speech and Debate
 Touché – The Sport of Fencing
These courses are designed to tap into the interests and aptitudes of students entering Grades 6 and 7 across
the district in 2015, while offering a chance to familiarize themselves with our district’s high schools. Courses
are taught by secondary school teachers and qualified professionals after school hours. Please see the
