Scottish ParentTeacher Council
Conference to be held in Dundee in
November. Laura awaiting more
information.
Insurance for Scottish Parent/Teacher
Council is now covered by the Authority.
School Pitch
Pitch is to undergo a revamp. Plan is to
raise funds through Parent
Council/school/parents and any
funding/grants we can obtain. Looking
for ideas for fundraising and also
approach volunteer groups to see if they
could help out.
Uncertainty about who the pitch belonged
to but it has been clarified that it belongs
to Estates Department.
Parking on Double Yellow Lines
Survey was done by Shirley’s class at
9.00am and 3.00pm where there was
found to be a slight decrease in parking
on the double yellow lines. Junior Road
Safety Officers are pushing for a
designated drop-off area.
Free fruit in schools
School hasn’t yet been notified if/when
this is being withdrawn.
Dinner School tuck shop
Lisa raised concern regarding unhealthy
snacks being sold in the tuck shop eg
instead of taking milk children are buying
a Capri sun (which is very high in sugar).
The tuck shop is also putting more
pressure on an already understaffed
dinner school.
Laura to draft a letter from the Parent
Council to parents advising what is being
sold in the tuck shop and asking for a
response to what is being provided.
School Uniform
Lynne addressed the issue of school
uniforms being adapted to the current
fashion trends. The children have also
been spoken to about this.
Sample uniforms were handed out from
Gilmour Sports who offer really
competitive prices. Sally to arrange to
meet with their rep with a view to moving
away from John Lewis as parents are
unhappy with their prices and pricing
structure.
Fundraising for Pitch
There will be a meeting on Monday 20
September at 3.15pm to discuss
fundraising ideas.
Date of next meeting
To be arranged.
