Special Holiday 2009 After School Classes - December 14th – 17th Register by Thursday 12/10 Return the registration along with payment made out to Sacred Heart Schools to Dr. Sharp. Class Sign up Logistics: Operate with the understanding that your child is registered for the class(es) you sign up for. You will only be contacted if there is not room in the class or if the class has been cancelled. If the December 10th signup deadline has passed and you want to sign up for a class please contact Dr. Sharp directly (773-681-8415) to determine if there is room in the class(es) you are interested in and to register your children directly with her. Dismissal Procedures: All classes will be dismissed on Rosemont at the time designated as the ending time in the schedule below. Children not picked up within 5-10 minutes of this ending time will be placed in the after school program. If you arrive after the dismissal time and no staff is on Rosemont dismissing children, please park your car in the school parking lot or on Rosemont with blinkers flashing and come through the Portry for pickup. After school staff is at school until 6:00 p.m. and your child is welcome to stay with us at no additional cost. Please pick up your children no later than 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 14th Holiday LEGO Ornaments for Kindergarteners Who: Kindergarteners 3:45-5:00 p.m. With Ms. Brittany Gibson (Brittany is a student at Loyola University majoring in Education, who works at Sacred Heart as well as the LEGO store on Michigan Avenue, where she facilitates the birthday parties and club meetings.) Students will be building holiday themed LEGO creations such as a candy cane and snowman ornament. A LEGO goodybag filled with a club magazine, coupon, tips and tricks card, building license, LEGO brick, and more will be provided also. No prior building experience is necessary. Cost: $20 + $11 materials fee = $31 Holiday Baking with Mrs. Messina and Mrs. Facer Who: Grades K-3 3:45 – 5:00 Come bake and decorate holiday cookies with Mrs. Messina and Mrs. Facer. We will be rolling dough, baking, and decorating cookies. We will also be decorating cookie boxes to bring them home in. This would be great for a gift to share with your family! You will need to bring a small school picture of yourself with you for your ornament. Cost: $20 + $10 materials fee = $30 Ornament Fiesta with Ms. Thomas Who: Grades 5-8 3:45-4:45 p.m. Each student will have the opportunity to design and make up to 3 Christmas ornaments using a variety of tools and materials. This is the perfect opportunity to design personal gifts for family or friends. The different types of designs that will be available to each student will include, nativity scene ornaments made with felt and wood, starburst paper ornaments made with origami type paper, clear, fill-able plastic ornaments that can be painted, and magic color scratch ornaments. Personalize your BIOCYLINDER with decorative rocks and plastic animals! You will be able to observe the water cycle in action and see oxygen producers (tropical plants) as they grow and sequester CO2. Decorative elements are included.
