CLASSROOM PROCEDURES FOR TEAM 6B
MR. REED
MS. BAUSENWEIN
SEPTEMBER 2006
Classroom Routine
When you come into the classroom you will stay in the
classroom. If you have a request to leave, you will be required
to use your passbook. If you do not have your passbook with
you, or your passes are all used up you will not leave unless it is
an emergency. At that point, an administrator will be requested
to escort you to your destination.
Once you enter the classroom socializing is over. The bell rings
to let the teacher know who is late. Turn in any homework
assignments, take out your book, pen or pencil, ( sharpen if
necessary ) journal, and notebook. Read and copy the “News
and Announcements” posted on the chalkboard. You will have
about 5 minutes including the 3 minutes of passing time to
complete. If you finish early, you are to work quietly until all
students finish. There will be no talking to the teacher or to other
classmates during this time.
If you have a problem with another student or with the class,
please see me during homeroom, during lunch, after school,
between classes or write me a note. I will not discuss personal
problems during class time.
Use of Passbook
No one will leave the science class unless they have a pass from the
office or it is a personal or medical emergency. You will not be allowed
to go to your locker during class time, so be sure you have all your
needed supplies and books.

When the bell rings at the end of class, I will dismiss you, not the bell.
You will push in your chairs, make sure the area around your seat is
clean, and then walk out of the room in an orderly fashion. Also,
students should not enter the classroom until the previous class is
dismissed.
Late to Class
Enter the classroom, show me your pass, sit down and get started with
the assignment that we are working on immediately. If you miss the
journal assignment, it is your responsibility to make up the work either
during your lunch, homeroom, or for homework the following day. You
are not excused from completing it.
If you are late without a pass, you will have lunch detention. See me
after class to receive your detention slip. After three late to class, you
will receive a referral and a call or note home. If you do not report to my
detention on the day it is assigned without an acceptable excuse, you
will receive an after school detention.
Pencils
All students need to bring pencils and pens to class. You will need at
least two pencils every day. Please sharpen them in homeroom. If you
need to sharpen your pencil, please use the hand sharpener quietly. It
is not my responsibility to provide pencils.
Gum and Candy
There is absolutely no candy or gum allowed in the science room. Any
student caught chewing gum will receive a lunch or after school
detention.
When you are absent
Worksheets or assignments will be given to you the next day you are in
class. It is your responsibility to complete them and to submit them to
me. It is your responsibility to complete any assignment that you have
missed.
ISS
If you receive ISS, your folder will be sent to the ISS Room as soon as
possible. Please complete the assignments and keep all work in the
folder. These assignments should be completed in order to receive
credit for the day. The ISS teacher will return the folder to my mailbox.
Group Work
We will have many opportunities to work in small groups. When it is
announced that we will have group work, please quickly and quietly
move to your assigned lab table. It is very important that you work
quietly and follow directions during lab work. The groups will be
changed each marking period so that you can work with different
people. We will form the groups.
Extra Help
If you need extra help or do not understand the science work, see me
during homeroom, or during lunch. The school also provides extra
science help and a homework club after school, which you can sign up
for in the guidance office.
