Pennell Elementary School – 5th Grade Supply List We hope your summer vacation will be very enjoyable and that you will come back to school in September ready to work. The first week in September we will be working with the summer assignment. Make sure you do all the reading and work assigned this summer, as this will be the first grade you receive in 5th grade and your first chance to impress your new teacher. Do your very best! Materials Needed Ear buds or head phones (to cost no more than $5). 5 Spiral Notebooks 1 – Marble Composition book 1 ½” binder 1 – Accordion folder Pack of Dry Erase Markers – one thin and one thick 1 containers of Clorox wipes Box of 12 #2 pencils (NO MECHANICAL PENCILS PLEASE) Colored pencils (very important – we use these a lot) 1box of tissues Glue stick – 2 fat ones or 3 little ones 2 – 3 pack of post-it notes 1 pair of good scissors 1 roll of scotch tape Assorted markers and crayons Zipper pencil case – no boxes 2 Highlighters 1 cm. Graph paper notebook Ruler Please put your name on all of your supplies. NO TRAPPER KEEPERS OR GEL PENS, PLEASE. Homework Policy Class assignments are written on the board and explained in class. Students are expected to copy these into their assignment books which are being supplied by the PTL. Work not finished in school becomes homework. Students going to safety posts, music lessons, and seminar are responsible for finding out and completing missed assignments. If your child is absent, he/she is responsible for making up missed work. Please make arrangements to pick up the work or have someone bring it home so your child does not get too far behind. Questions? Problems? Homeroom Parents Each class needs 1 or 2 volunteers to serve as Homeroom Parents for the school year. If you are interested, please send your name and phone number to your child’s homeroom teacher. Will be chosen randomly Absent/Late Notes If your child is absent or late, he/she must, upon returning, bring a note. All absences are unexcused unless a note is sent into school within 5 days.
