Banked-timed (Tuesdays): Every Tuesday from October 25, 2005 to May 16, 2006, the children will be
dismissed at 1:30. On these days the children will participate with Coach Alex and with Bob
Goldhamer from 2:00 to 4:00. Homework sessions will begin at 4:00 on these days due to staff/grade
level meetings that the counselors must attend.
As for all minimum days, the Afterschool Program starts as soon as the children are dismissed at 12:30

extra bottle of water. Snacks are sometimes sold by the Drill Team at the lunch pavilion. If you child would like
to purchase snacks, please make sure you send them with snack money.
Roles of Staff Members
Homework Supervision Counselors (HSC)
The Homework Supervision Counselors will assist the children with their homework. The HSCs will make sure the
children have CORRECTLY COMPLETED their homework. The HSCs will also help reinforce healthy work habits
and instill a sense of responsibility into the children’s homework ethic. Once the children are finished with their
homework, the HSC will prepare assignments and/or activities for the children to engage in.
Specifically on Friday, the HSCs should have a lesson planned to enhance the skills the children are working on.
Each HSC is responsible for his/her class to ensure an educational and enlightening experience for the children.
The quality of what the HSC is teaching will reflect on our children.
Experiential Learning Counselors (ELC)
The Experiential Learning Counselors will plan lessons so that the children can experience what they are
learning in the curricular area they are focusing on for the day. Different curricular subjects will be taught:
science, writing, comprehension strategies, language skills, art, physical education, et.c. The ELC will teach
quality lessons so that the children are engaged and making connections with what they are learning to their
everyday lives. The ELC will also be teaching the children Test Taking skills.
Daily Schedule:
2:30
SNACK
The children meet the Coordinator, Esther Lim, at the lunch pavilion, where they will eat their
snacks brought from home.

HOMEWORK SUPERVISION/EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING:
The Homework Supervision Counselors (HPC)/ Experiential Learning Counselor (ELC) will meet the
children at the lunch pavilion and escort them to the classroom where they will assist the
children with their homework as well as provide experiential learning. At the end of the session,
the HPC/ELC will escort the children to the library.
Parents and children are responsible to have their homework/books/necessary materials to
work on their homework assignments. Therefore, it is key that your child is responsible for the
books/materials they need to do that day’s homework assignment.
