Roles of Staff Members Homework Supervision Counselors (HSC) The Homework Supervision Counselors will assist the children with their homework. The HSCs will make sure the children have CORRECTLY COMPLETED their homework. The HSCs will also help reinforce healthy work habits and instill a sense of responsibility into the children’s homework ethic. Once the children are finished with their homework, the HSC will prepare assignments and/or activities for the children to engage in. Specifically on Friday, the HSCs should have a lesson planned to enhance the skills the children are working on. Each HSC is responsible for his/her class to ensure an educational and enlightening experience for the children. The quality of what the HSC is teaching will reflect on our children. Experiential Learning Counselors (ELC) The Experiential Learning Counselors will plan lessons so that the children can experience what they are learning in the curricular area they are focusing on for the day. Different curricular subjects will be taught: science, writing, comprehension strategies, language skills, art, physical education, et.c. The ELC will teach quality lessons so that the children are engaged and making connections with what they are learning to their everyday lives.
