Meeting started at 11:00 a.m. in room 137A.

Life Map- Ice Breaker-Introduction of Members
-Students each drew their life map and took turns introducing themselves and their past
experiences, heritage, family, friends, passions, jobs, education, etc.

Discussion occurred as to whether we should have both Recording Secretary and
Corresponding Secretary or just one. It was determined that there are quite a lot of
duties for just one secretary and therefore, we would have both.
Parliamentary Procedure-(Robert’s Rules of Order) will be followed at the meetings.
Copies of this will be handed out at the next meeting.

Upcoming Events:
DSS Meeting – 9/23/11 1:00-4:00 – who will attend? Room M614
Tony Trope, Jenny Staab, Virginia Cassel, and Wendy Yang will all attend.
ASACC applications-deadline to apply Sept. 29, 2011
Virginia Cassel explained what ASACC is and her trip to New Orleans
District Leadership Retreat – promote-deadline Sept 30
Fright Fest-October 1
Club Luncheon with VP of West Campus-October 12
West Campus will be celebrating MATC’s Centennial on
Thursday, November 10, 2011- Jenny Staab volunteered to be the student advocate for
the Centennial committee.
Wendy Yang spoke about getting the food drive going in October to collect canned
goods for our students and to give any excess food to the Hunger Task Force.
Patrice requested all senators to read over the duties of officers and determine which
positions they would be interested in running for and to be prepared to speak to the
committee. It was determined that a special election meeting would occur next week
Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at 11:00 for the election of officers.
Fall Semester meeting dates were determined as follows:
