way Harald united the tribes of Denmark into one network. Had the
Jelling Stones of Denmark erected in honor of his parents, Gorm the
Old and Thyra V

of Methvin Robert the Bruce was unhorsed and captured by the
English. Seton slew Bruce's captor and freed him to escape; later

his heart was removed and carried on a Crusade
• James Douglas (died 1330; 12th GGF of AE King Sr) Captured
Roxburgh Castle during the Scottish Wars of Independence with a
handful of men by disguising them as cattle. Carried the heart of
Robert the Bruce on Crusade, where he himself was killed
• Malcolm Drummond (died 1346; 19th GGF of AE King Sr) Developed
the Caltraps, an iron device with four spikes, which stopped the
English cavalry at the Battle of Bannockburn

Captured Henry de Percy (Hotspurs) at the Battle of the
Otterburn
• James Douglas (died 1388; 19th GGF of AE King Sr) Led the
Scottish forces at the Battle of Otterburn. Douglas was killed
early in the battle, his body hidden so the Scottish troops
would not retreat. The battle became known as the battle
won by a dead general. The ghosts of Douglas' army still
haunt the roads around Otterburn

• David Lindsay (died When Clan Lindsay faced off against Clan
Ogilvie, David Lindsay rode between the two clans hoping to
mediate a truce. Mistaking David's intent, an Ogilvie threw a spear,
striking David in the mouth and killing him instantly
• Margaret of Scotland (died 1486; 13th GGM of AE King Sr) Wife of
James III if Scotland, she was the first to tie the royal bloodline of
Denmark to that of Scotland
• John de Pollock (died 1577; 8th GGF of AE King Sr) Fought for Mary,
Queen of Scots, at the Battle of Langside, and lost the family lands
in Renfrewshire following her defeat
• William Cochrane (died 1717; 5th GGF of AE King Sr) Participated in
the Reyhouse plot to assassinate Charles I of England
