Lowry) Boiled his wife to death in her wedding dress for being
unfaithful, then murdered his brother-in-law
• William Talvas, Seigneur of Alençon (died 1048; 29th GGF of
Tom Lowry) Had his wife murdered on her way to church,
mutilated one of his neighbors, strangled in his sleep in
revenge

Welsh princes to Christmas dinner, then murdered them (the
Abergavenney Massacre)
• William de Braose (died 1240; 23rd GGF of Tom Lowry) While
visiting Llywelen The Great ap Iorwerth for Easter, he was found in
bed with Llywelen's wife, daughter of the king of England, and
subsequently hanged in public
• Guy de Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick (died 1314; 22nd GGF of Ethel
Maud Smith) Decapitated Piers Gaveston, consort of King Edward II

• Peter the Cruel (died 1138; 17th GGF of Tom Lowry) Murdered his
wife with a crossbow; murdered the Archbishop of Santiago
• Thomas Darcy, Lord Darcy (died 1537; 12th GGF of Ethel Maud
Smith) Prepared the accusations of treason against Cardinal Wolsey,
who had failed to obtain an annulment of Henry VIII's marriage;
Darcy was later imprisoned in the Tower of London by Henry VIII for
treason, beheaded, and his head hung from the London Bridge
• Thomas Wyatt (died 1554; 11th GGF of Ethel Maud Smith) Led
Wyatt's Rebellion against Mary, Queen of Scots. His supporters
failed to show up, he was captured and executed
• Ramiro II of Aragon (died 1147; 30th GGF of Tom Lowry) Summoned
12 of his nobles to help him build a bell at Huesca. When they
arrived he cut off their heads, placed them in a circle, and placed a
clapper in the middle (The Bell of Huesca)
