Location/setting
Crowded airport, Taxi rank.
This is typical of the genre as
they are just ordinary places
where we can relate to. Tom
Cruises character has just
arrived on a business trip.
Jaime Fox’s character is a taxi
driver and shows his place in
society.
Props
Brief case, Flight ticket, Taxi,
Picture of an island, Crossword,
Glasses, Cloth and spray. The
briefcase adds to the action as
you don’t know what’s inside and
because of his dress it could be
anything. The crossword shows
that Jamie Fox’s character is quite
intelligent and the picture shows
us that he doesn’t want to be in
his taxi and would rather be
somewhere else.
Lighting/colour
Yellow taxi, Lighting in airport is
daytime. The lighting at the
airport is bright so it makes Tom
Cruise stand out but at the same
time doesn’t give away why he is
there as it is daytime. The colour
of the taxi tells us that it is in a big
city in America like LA or New
York

Cruises face. The close up shows
his hidden identity as even

wearing glasses so we don’t
fully see him. Medium close-up
