ALCOM Confidential Supplier Controlled - Safe Launch Plan Sep 2013 1 Controlled – Safe Launch Plan ALCOM Confidential Suppliers will participate in a controlled - Safe Launch Plan to be defined and executed in the Product Special Characteristic Matrix (PSCM). PSCM is listing all significant inspection / control points, the type of inspection occurring (i.e. visual, testing or actual measurement), the method of documentation, the sample size and increased frequency of those checks, and defined immediate action to be taken if an out of control and/or out of specification condition occurs. 2 Controlled–Safe Launch Plan Label ALCOM Confidential Exit criteria for the Controlled - Safe Launch Plan is shipment of zero defect parts that meet either the defined period of time or number of lots. Any defect discovered during this period restarts the event to “0” pieces shipped. Suppliers will be required to submit data to ALPS as part of this process. Suppliers shipping parts under Controlled - Safe Launch Plan shall create a separate label placed on each container showing “Safe Launch Plan” to indicate these parts. See Figure below for an example: Safe Launch Plan Label Size: a standard 2 1/2“ X 5” tag is recommended 3 Plan Labeling ALCOM Confidential The requirements and responsibility for these approvals shall be determined by the Design Engineer, the Product Engineer, the Tooling Engineer, and Supplier Quality Engineer based upon design needs and Customer requirements. Prototype material must be identified as such by the use of the required PINK label on the outside of each box or package. Material that will be used for pilot builds must be identified as such by use of the required GREEN label on the outside of the box. This includes during PPAP. material produced PSCM ATTACHED FILE: PSCM, for a pre-determined period of time (90 days) or six lots for supplier production ALPS facility and the Supplier will employ an expanded inspection process on special – key characteristics. Once the program passed from launch into normal production, the supplier shall continue to use the validated process (PPAP Process). Note: In case that any change to validated process be requested, ALPS approval is required. In case that goals and metric during this process does not meet, Suppliers will be subject to one or more intensive improvement tools. 6
