We create “standards” not expectations. We give kids permission to do what we want them to do. We do not punish; we do not reward and we do not “let it slide”. We explicitly teach everything we want our kids to do. And, then we practice – A LOT! We LOVE mistakes – Mistakes are where the new learning goes! + The Hearst Owl Pledge I am a Hearst Owl, And today I pledge to practice Ownership felloWship Leadership Scholarship Hoot! Hoot! + How can you help promote successful behavior? Encourage the language you are starting hear and use it yourself! “I need support?” “For more success you may….” Use the “teach” method to get results. “For more/absolute respect, you may/can….” Model behavior you want from your children both subtly and overtly.
