Writing Field Test
Overview
• These training materials are based on the Winter 2014 FSA ELA Writing
Test Administration Manual and are available at www.FSAssessments.org
• These training materials highlight important information regarding test
administration policies and procedures.
• Not all information from the test administration manual is included in this
presentation, so it is imperative that school staff read and familiarize
themselves with all information in the manual in addition to using
these training materials.
• Update to the Manual
 Due to recent updates to the Test Delivery System (TDS), the script for administering
computer-based tests has been updated in the FSA ELA Writing Field Test TAM. The
updated version of the TAM has the date “11_26_14” noted.
 The affected portion is within the section titled “Script for Administering the
Computer-Based Grades 8–11 FSA ELA Writing Field Test.” The only affected pages
are pages 50, 51, and 59.

communication error, power loss, or other event, the 90-minute rule applies.
•
If you accidentally close the browser while students are still testing,
your session will remain open until it times out. You can open the browser
and navigate back to the TA Site. You will be prompted to enter your active
Session ID.
 Warning: You must remember or write down your active Session ID. If
you do not remember your Session ID, you will not be able to enter your

Test Administrator has to create a new test session and
provide another Session ID to allow students to log back
into the test.
