• Year-round, family-oriented program within Boy Scouts
of America (BSA) designed for boys in Grades 1-5

• Based at Twin Creeks Elementary School as part of Mt
Diablo-Silverado BSA Council
The Den
• Core (home) unit in the Cub Scout experience
• Typically 6-8 boys of same grade who meet 1-2 times
per month with agenda coordinated by Den Leader
– Parental involvement is essential part of the experience
• Work on projects/units required for advancement to
next level (i.e. safety, scouting principles, etc.)
• Go on field trips to local venues to explore new places,
learn about the community and provide public service

The activities of each Tiger, Wolf, Bear
and Webelos den will differ depending
on the interests of the scouts, parents,
age of the scouts, etc.
Financials
• Pack 828 maintains an annual, public budget to ensure
we continue to provide quality programming and
experiences to the cub scouts
– Fundraising via popcorn sales is a large component of the
Pack’s cash flow (September/October focus)

Uniform: $45 (shirt, neckerchief, slider)

involvement is critical at both the den and pack levels

What’s Next?
• Tiger den “logistics” will be finalized in August or
September when we have a better sense of sign-ups
– Existing dens for Grades 2-4 welcome new members!
