• IGR
definitions:
“intergovernmental relations” means
relationships that arise between different governments or between
organs of state from different governments in the conduct of their
affairs;
• Inter-governmental an inter-municipality forums as defined in
sections 24 and 28 of the IGRFA act 13 of 2005
• Inter governmental structures promote co-ordination and
alignment
• Consultative approach followed: District and Prov. IDP LED
Mngrs forum, IDP CC,DCF
• Alignment and stakeholder engagement: Municipal level
platforms for stakeholder engagement and Bi-laterals

• IDP Co-ordinating (IDP CC) committee convenes municipal,
provincial and national department stakeholders at least twice
per annum
• E.g. IDP management framework and process plan (time
schedule) used to aid alignment
• IGR assists planning alignment and co-ordination at strategic
and operational management level
• Multi-sectoral forum: expediting implementation challenges
across sectors and ensuring project integration
