INTRODUCTION
What is Used oil?
Used oil is an oil from industrial or non-industrial sources
which has been used for lubricating or other purposes and
has become unsuitable for its original purpose due to the
presence of contaminants / impurities or the loss of its
original properties.

LEGAL REGULATIONS
 In 1992 Saudi Arabia adopted the Basic Law(commonly
referred to as the constitution of Saudi Arabia) Article 32 of
the Basic Law states that,
"The state works for the preservation, protection, and
improvement of the environment, and for the prevention of
pollution".
 Saudi Arabia is a signatory to the 1989 Basel Convention on
the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous
Wastes and their disposal.

 Re-refining promotes proper collection of used oil and
protect contaminating landfills and soil; out of rivers, lakes,

The used Lube oils generated at industrial plants are generally
mixtures of various oils such turbine oil, heat transfer oil,
compressor oil ,hydraulic oil, synthetic oils, solvents and cutting
oils.
Automotive Sector :
Used oils are generated at service stations, garages, new car
dealer showrooms, other retail establishments and automotive
fleet service areas.
Collection and Transportation:
Used Lube Oils from above sectors are collected by small
volume dyna trucks and brought to the refining plant centre.
