For the third consecutive year, the Cultural Association Arcipelago has the honor and the
pleasure to organize the third International Opera Competition Jole De Maria.
In 2013 its first edition was held in Galati Mamertino, in the province of Messina, in a
cool and crowded square, in the childhood places of Jole De Maria and, for this reason,
particularly clapped and followed.
This year, as it happened in 2014, the competition will take place in Monterotondo,
small but exquisite small town that retains its proximity to Rome, while remaining immersed
in the beautiful countryside surrounding it.
We have been "travelling" together, we and opera singers of all vocal registers: soprano,
mezzosoprano, contralto, countertenor, tenor, baritone and bass; coming from all over the
world: China, Japan, Russia, United States, Korea, Austria, Spain, Germany, Croatia, Poland,
Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Singapore and, of course, Italy.
The winners, were awarded cash prizes, planned also for this new edition. As in the first
two editions, direction and organization of this event will be committed into the hands of,
respectively, Irene Bottaro and Eleonora Vicario. To chair, a jury panel of five Masters and
expert of international opera.
The competition will be divided into three stages: on 24 and 25 June will take place the
preliminaries, semi-finals on June 26 and on June 27 the evening will be dedicated to the a
public concert, during which the finalists will perform their arias.
An artistic personality of our country will award the prizes to the winners.
Like the previous editions, the Competition is proud to support cancer fight research.
Everyone can make their contribution, and, in return, have the gift of books or records.
