Registration Process: The Bridge Between GRU and GoArmyEd First Thing First Before you register in GoArmyEd, there are a few things that you should check on before you try to sign up for classes. Answer the questions on the following slides to make sure you have everything in order… 1. Have you established a GoArmyEd Account through your Army Education Center or Unit Education representative? YES NO Go on to Question 2 You can establish your GoArmyEd account by visiting https://www.goarmyed.com/login.aspx or visiting your Education Counselor. 2. Is Georgia Regents University your home school in your GoArmyEd Account? Meet with an Army Education Counselor if: YES NO Go on to Question 3 Your home school or degree plan is incorrect You are denied admission to your designated home school You already have completed your degree plan requirements You wish to change your home school or degree plan 3. Are you planning to take more that 12 semester hours this semester? NO YES Go on to Question 4 You must see an education center counselor to get Permission to take more that 12 semester hours. 4. Check your personal information record in your GoArmyEd record. Do you have any of the following holds on your account? SOU – Statement of Understanding needs to be updated? Print out a Statement of Understanding form, have it signed NO YES By your Commander (SFC and above may sign for themselves) and turn it in to the Education Center. FYI: an SOU must be signed and Uploaded to your Education record in GoArmyEd each year from the date it was originally signed. CIV Edu. Holds? NO YES Contact your Army Education Counselor. Only they Can assist with these holds. Student Agreement Hold NO Go on to Question 4 YES Email the Office of Military & Veteran’s Services (mvs@gru.edu), letting them know that GoArmyEd is requesting a student agreement from you. They will upload your degree plan for you. It may take up to 24 hours to update in the system. 4. Have you registered for classes in the PAWS system through the GRU Website, and do you have a copy of your schedule in front of you? YES NO Sign up for your classes in PAWS through gru.edu, then print a copy of your schedule. Go on to Number 5 5. Using the Course SUBJECT, Course NUMBER and SECTION from your printed class schedule, follow the instructions on the next page to search for your classes in the GoArmyEd system to request Tuition Assistance. After Signing in to GoArmyEd Click on the Request TA button You will be taken to a search page to find your classes! Class Search in GoArmyEd Subject Number Section Using your printed class schedule from ELROY, you are going to Concentrate on four items: 1. The Term Date 2. The Subject: Example; MATH, ENGL, GEOL 3. The Catalog Number: Example; 1101 4. The Course Section: Example; AB Class Search in GoArmyEd Make sure you are in the Correct Term Make sure your school is showing Augusta State University Type in your Subject Type in your Catalog # **Do not fill in any other search fields. This is all you need. Then click SEARCH. *** See the next slide if you are taking a subject with a zero as the first number. If not Go on to slide 10. Class Search in GoArmyEd Look for the Section Number. Class Search in GoArmyEd • If you are taking any MATH, READ, ENGL, etc… course with any zeros as the first number in the Subject Number, i.e. 0098, 0097, or 0195, enter the Subject only and then click search. • Find your Subject and Subject number and then reference Slide 3 to find your class. Final Step: Email mvs@gru.edu • Now that you have registered in both ELROY and GoArmyEd. E-mail Maggie Witherington, Military Service Coordinator, at mvs@gru.edu to let her know that you are registered for classes in both systems. Include your GRU identification number and attach your TA form. • If you do not e-mail The Military and Veteran’s Services Office with your TA form, GRU has no way of knowing that you are going to pay for your classes using tuition assistance funds and you run the risk of being dropped from your classes by the Business Office after the payment deadline date. • Once the MVS Office receives your E-mail, your classes are out on hold so they will not be dropped until TA funds are posted to your account.
