About AITA
The Albanian ICT Association was established in
2007 as an initiative of Albanian enterprises
working in the IT domain.
It represents the leading voice of the Albanian ICT
sector as well as a prominent advocate for the
expansion of Albania’s innovative capacity and for
stronger productivity across all sectors through the
strategic use of technology.
About AITA



Membership is available open to all companies
and organizations in Albania that are involved in
ICT. AITA has over 72 members representing
hardware, software and ICT services companies,
NGO-s , academic institutions and experts.
We are committed to helping our members
achieve greater success through advocacy, public
policy, education, networking, professional
development, events and business development
opportunities in domestic and foreign markets.
Objectives






To strengthen the leading voice and the representative of
ICT sector in the Government;
To develop, strengthen and promote the ICT industry in the
country;
To develop the ICT export services;
To become the leader in promoting professional and quality
services in the country;
To create partnerships with other associations;
To promote education and improve high school and
university IT curricula.
Activities
 Coordinated representation towards the Government with participation in joint
meetings;
 Meetings with representatives of particular sectors of importance for the IT sector;
 Building bridges of cooperation with companies in other countries;
 Support of internationalization efforts of member companies;
 Building bridges of cooperation with other sectors of the Albanian economy;
 Organizing conferences and tech fairs;
 Roundtable Meetings on topics relevant to the sector;
 StartUp and Training events;
 Initiation of studies aiming at generating relevant data for the sector etc;
 Activities aiming the sustainable development of the association are focused on
various activities for our members;
 Fundraising activities and generation of projects that could consolidate the position
of the association and increase the attractiveness for potential members;
 Preparation of strategies and daily activities for the maintenance and consolidation
of the position of the association in the NGO sector in Albania and in the region.
Main Projects of AITA
AITA has implemented numerous projects that have
stimulated the competitiveness and growth of the
ICT sector in Albania, both domestically and
abroad.
AITA is one of the main supporters of all the
activities in the country supporting innovation, ICT
ecosystem improvement and strengthening such as
Startup Weekend, Imagine Cup, Startup Live, Tech
Camp, Innovation Camp, World Summit Awards, ICT
Awards and so on.
Main Projects: IT Mark


Albanian IT Process Improvement and Certification Program,
(2008 – 2010) and ( 2011-2012)
The program was implemented in collaboration with GIZ ORF,
European Software Institute Center Eastern Europe (based in
Bulgaria), and Albanian IT Association (AITA). AITA was
seriously committed on promoting regional and international
standards for a better management of companies in the
information technology sector, particularly among the AITA
member companies.
The project supported 5 member companies of AITA (DM
Consulting Services , Infosoft SD, ikubInfoSoft, Tetra, and
Intech Solutions) working in the field of software
development and service delivery.
Main Projects: AEP (2011-2014)
Academic Exchange for Progress (AEP) facilitates academic
exchange and capacity building within the host country, and
in the cooperation between partner institutions in Norway,
Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo (MAK-countries/MAK).
The project has provided a stable platform to strengthen the
regional cooperation among Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo
(MAK) in both private sector and academic fields.
This direct cooperation has lead to a more profound
exchange of best practices and enable a joint work in
improving the position and perception of the MAK ICT
Industry.

A GENERAL OVERVIEW OF IT COMPANIES IN
ALBANIA study was commissioned by Crimson Capital
, with funding from the Norwegian Government, as
part of the official assistance for strengthening the
role of the AITA.
The purpose of the study was to collect information on
the IT ompanies operating in Albania. The research
was conducted through a questionnaire survey and a
number of in-depth interviews with owners/managers
of selected companies.
