Plot consists of five stages: exposition, conflict, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. Exposition: the beginning of the story where characters, situations, and conflicts are introduced Rising Action: the part of the story that builds suspense and leads to the climax Climax: Usually the most interesting point in the story. Consists of usually one event that turns the problem around. Leads to the problem being solved. Falling Action: the story starts to wind down, the problem is in the process of being solved. Resolution: the result of the climax. Helps solve the problem. Foreshadowing: when the author gives clues or hints as to what will happen later. What were the plot stages in Maniac Magee?
