• Provide a set of tools for the needs and situation analysis of the state of ICT use in teaching, learning and administration in pre-service teacher training institutions
• By doing so, the institutions will be better positioned to develop a strategic plan (long term planning towards the organisation’s vision &
mission) to build their capacity for ICT integration in education.

• This programme is being piloted across the world and in
South Africa in 2010
• A day seminar will be held for Deans of Schools of Education alongside the WW Innovative Education Forum in October
2010 to introduce the Teacher Education Institution (TEI)
Toolkit
• From 2011, Microsoft and our partners will be supporting interested Universities/Teacher Training institutions in running workshops on: using the TEI toolkit, evaluating current status and planning implementation for moving along the continuum
• modelling use of the pre-service teacher training courseware
• opportunity to adopt, customise and collaborate to contribute content to the pre-service TT courseware
