Reflexive and Intensive Pronouns
Reflexive and intensive pronouns are formed by adding -self or -selves to personal
pronouns.
Examples: I usually make myself dinner if my parents work late. (reflexive) I myself
do not enjoy biking. (intensive)
Read the following sentences. Underline each reflexive and intensive pronoun. Then
decide if each one is reflexive (R) or intensive (I). Write the correct letter on the
line before each sentence.

The Hitchhiker vs The Tell-Tale Heart
Story Compare/Contrast Rough Draft
Students will write a persuasive essay in which s/he draws
comparisons/contrasts using specific details from both stories to convince
the reader of which story portrays MOOD and TONE more effectively.
You MUST turn in these 3 steps of the writing process TODAY:
1.Brainstorming
This is the Notes on details from both stories. Questions
you’ve answered, etc.
2.Planning
HM-Lit R37-38, Outline, VENN, T-Chart, however you want
to plan it is fine. There must be visual proof of planning
that makes sense.
1.Rough Drafting
Write a rough draft based off of your notes and plan.
