Enculturation In Catholic
 Enculturation is a term that Catholic Church use
referring to the different kinds of culture that influence
the teaching. It is more comfortable when people pray
with their own traditions and culture.

The Mass in Palasari Church
History
 There is also a place for catholic people which is Hati
Kudus Yesus church or that usually called as Palasari
Church. It was built on the year 1940. It was built by
Peter Buis Simon. Because of its beauty, this church
also attract tourism from other country. The church take
place in Gilimanuk, Denpasar, Bali. All of the furniture
in the church was inspired by Balinese culture.
Purpose of the enculturation
 The purpose is to make catholic people be more
comfortable to pray in catholic way but at the same
time they also keep their culture which Balinese.
Influence of the culture
 Balinese influence many things on this church. Palasari
Church used Balinese Architecture but Simon Buis kept
the Catholic nuance. Even though it is a Catholic
Church, in the entrance door there are still Hindu
temple that are standing there because most of Bali
citizens are Hindu. Beside that, next to Jesus and
Mother Mary’s statue, there are 2 yellow umbrella that
are used for Bali’s traditions. Traditional music of Bali
also used to accompanied the mass during Christmas
time.
Conclusion
 It is important to have enculturation because it is what
make us comfortable and we can share our traditions
and learning religion with different culture.
