“Math Moves”
The purpose is to incorporate movement into reviewing math facts. It
has been proven that our brains work better when we are moving or
when we take a “brain break” during a lesson.

calculations he did for the Giant’s new glasses. Below is
the information he does know, but he’s missing some
the numbers. See if you can use proportions to help
him figure out the missing measurements.
• *Be sure to set up your proportion & show your work!
• 1. The average human’s ear length is 2 inches
compared to the length of the sides of a pair of glasses
which is 5 inches. We know the Giant’s ears were 22
inches in length. How long should the oculist make the
sides of his glasses? _____________________

instruction and practice. These are set up by domain and standard. There are
multiple activities for most standards and are very user friendly. These activities don’t
replace direct conceptual instruction, but are rather the we-do, you-do portion of your
lesson.
Additionally this site offers materials for purchase to reinforce math vocabulary, class
projects and math journals for all grade levels.

Spending $100
• Students get $100 to spend (pretend). They may not
spend the $100 on one single item.
• They make a list of three categories for spending.
• Students “shop” using sale papers and print outs of
clothing, toys, games, etc. from online.
• Students round to the nearest dollar to create
subtotals and a grand total.
• Students make a bar graph showing how they spent
their money.
• Students share their strategies and budgeting ideas
with the class.
