Types of employment contracts:
Permanent –full time job. Job for the long-term.
Fixed term- Just for a short time or for a specific
task. Employers can pay them a set amount
Freelance – short-term, self-employed. A
freelance writer could just do a one off task for a
newspaper.

Jobs in the television industry
Floor Manager
Links the people on the set to the people creating the
ideas.
The floor manager is responsible for passing on cues to
presenters and guests to ensure timings are met and the
broadcast goes smoothly.

Makeup and Hair Designers
Make-up and Hair Designers usually work on
feature films and high budget television
dramas. Make-up and Hair are key elements in the
overall design of films or television productions,
creating a look for the characters in relation to
social class, and time periods. They are responsible
for the overall design, application, continuity and
care of make-up and hair throughout the preproduction and production periods.
Runner
Runners work across the TV industry so you could be doing anything from
helping out on sets to helping out with the editing process post-production.
