Session 1.1
Something
or
Nothing
1.1 Something or Nothing
Key Concept
The question of why there is something
rather than nothing requires more than a
scientific answer.
1.1 Something or Nothing
John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God. He was
with God in the beginning. Through him all
things were made; without him nothing was
made that has been made. In him was life, and
that life was the light of all mankind. The light
shines in the darkness, and the darkness has
not overcome it.

1.2 Cause and Effect
Can the universe be
explained by time and
chance and matter?
1.2 Cause and Effect
What role does order

1.2 Cause and Effect
We might concede there
was a creator who made
the universe, but why do
Christians insist it was a
personal creator?
1.2 Cause and Effect
Is it just lazy thinking to

Genesis account?

Reason
and
Order
1.3 Reason and Order

reasonable we discover the explanation of
a God who made it all this way.

things you do not know.

can rationally
understand the universe
so remarkable?

laws and rationality of
creation?

science seen as
enemies?
