Classroom Technology
Why are we looking to increase technology in the classrooms?
(one class-set of 32 tablets )
New National Curriculum (Sep 2014) –
Children learn best when …
increased emphasis on research, for example
into the impact of individuals in their field: art,
science etc.
they are engaged with their learning
new subject of Computing to add to previous
ICT expectations
emphasis within drama and PE on evaluating
own performance
Children tell us …
they enjoy learning when they can ask
questions and can pursue their interests –
more self-directed learning
learning is personalised – the use of different apps
makes this possible
they can collaborate meaningfully
they create as well as consume
Classroom-based technology provides instant
access to information to enhance learning. It does
not replace the teacher, but adds to the repertoire
of teaching resources that a teacher can call upon
to use. It can help to bring learning to life in the
classroom.

Sponsorship & Matched Funding
Maximising profits with minimal effort
Matched Funding
Do you know that many companies run schemes where staff raising money for
charity can get matched funding? (Friends is a registered charity)
In the past we have been supported by Vodafone and Barclays but other
companies also run scheme which may include: Alliance & Leicester, ASDA, BP,
BT, Camelot, DHL, Diageo, Gap, Halifax, HSBC, Kingfisher, Lloyds, & Shell
Please ask you employer if they support local charities via Matched Funding.
Sponsorship
We’d love to hear from local businesses who would like to sponsor events and/or stalls e.g. quiz
night / bouncy castle hire for the Summer Fair.
In return, we offer a public thank you via notices on the day and the Friends newsletter.
