What is it?

What is music?
The combination of Sounds and Silence in an organized
manner.
What are some Characteristics of music?
• Pitch – How high or low a sound is.
• Volume – How loud or soft a sound is
• Tempo – The speed of music
• Rhythm- The organization of long and short beats
• Melody – The progression of pitches
Musical Concepts and Math
Musical Notation
• The metre of traditional/alternative notation outlines the
use of fractions
• The identification of the ostinato reinforces algebra.
• The identification of the motif supports Multiplication
Literature and Musical concepts

syllabication.
Vocal training (Aurals) reinforces the vowel sounds
Listening and appraising creates the schema for descriptive
passages

What is it?

introduce and/or reinforce a topic by placing the content in
the lyrical component.
