Admission officers are beginning to weigh the rigor of high school course work MORE than GPA or test scores CUHSD weighs AP courses 1 point (B = A) Who Succeeds in AP Courses? Self-motivated students able to manage their time effectively Who Succeeds in AP Courses? Organized students able to meet deadlines Who Succeeds in AP Courses? Students highly interested in the subject matter that meet the pre-requisites for the class Who Succeeds in AP Courses? Students with strong reading and criticalthinking skills Students able to work independently Prepare for AP classes in advance Complete summer assignment before school begins Commit to AP courses for the year Take the AP Exam in May Take responsibility for their own learning; seek help outside of class Devote time and resources to the course Maintain academic integrity at all times AP Exams are administered by schools worldwide on set dates each May. Exams usually last around three hours. Each AP Exam contains: Multiple-choice questions Free-response questions AP Exam Fees AP Exam fee for 2015 is $91 per exam. For students with financial need, the College Board provides a $29 per exam fee reduction.
