● In the interest of time, divide into small
groups of two to three individuals
● JigSaw - Divide the document into sections:
Pages (1-3), (4-5), (6-7), and (8-9)

● Use a “reading strategy”, preferably some
form of note taking in the columns or
highlighting
◦ Use the following guiding questions:
• What did the document say? Site
specific sections of the document.
• What causes me pause?
• What are the implications for my
work?

● Take the MDE M-STEP Preview Test

the test as a student. Work

formulas, etc., but may not have these available during
the PT
◦ Students can take notes, but not use them during the

◦ If absent, a make-up session for the classroom activity
must be scheduled
