Together, the 35 institutions of the University System of Georgia (USG) had a $12.6 billion economic impact on the state’s economy during FY10. For Clayton State University, the economic impact (Output Impact in current dollars) rose from $205.6 million in FY09 to $236.2 million in FY10, an increase of 14.9 percent. In addition, Clayton State’s Employment Impact (i.e., the number of on-campus and off-campus jobs that exist due to institution-related spending) rose from 1,697 jobs in FY09 to 2,169 jobs in FY10, an increase of 27.8 percent.
