Hay bale jump with Aussie Flags – Finish line Brumby Challenge Rules and Course Explanation • • • • • • • • The Brumby Challenge is open to Brumbies only Entry fee for both ridden and lead Brumbies is $5 per entry Brumbies must be registered with either the GFHHA or ABHR – no appendix or part breeds. The Brumby Challenge is open to both lead and ridden Brumbies with time penalties adjusted – so whether you run or ride, everyone can win! Ridden competitors will receive a 20 second penalty for incomplete or a pass on an obstacle Ridden competitors can dismount and walk an obstacle for only a 5 second penalty. Lead competitors will receive a 10 second penalty for incomplete or a pass on an obstacle Judges decision is final • • • • Prize for first place - $300 cash and stock whip valued at $400! Prize for second place - $150 cash Prize for third place - $50 cash Encouragement prizes will also be awarded throughout the weekend events. • • • • • • Start at the starters witches hat Flag Carry – carry a large Australian flag from one witches hat and place into the top of another Tarp Walk – walk/run across a tarp on the ground that will be secured by colored jump poles Beer Can Carry – a string of empty beer cans placed over your Brumby’s head and carried around their neck Noodle Squeeze – walk/run through pool noodles secured to two sets of jumping stands Chaff Bag Drag – after removing your string of beer cans, grab a rope attached to a weighted chaff bag and drag behind your Brumby Letter Barrel – drop the rope attached to the chaff bag, grab the letter from inside the barrel and race for the Pony Express! Letter Box – deliver your letter into the hay bale letterbox Jumbuck Rescue – grab your stricken jumbuck off the hay bale and place over the shoulders of your Brumby Hay Bale Finale – still carrying your jumbuck, jump the hay bales with Aussie flags on either side for the Finish!! • • • •
