What is an animation flipbook
Animation
Act of animating, derived from the Latin word
Animatus which means to give life to.
Flipbook
Also known as “flick” book is a book with series of
images that create the illusion of motion when the
pages of the book are rapidly flipped.
Animation flipbook
Book of series of images that appear to animate
(have life) by simulating motion or some changes.

Creating a flipbook
1. Do some rough sketches for ideas of what you’d like animate
2. Create a storyboard. Start with the first and last frames and fill
in the middle.
3. Work only on the lower half of the page because of visibility
during flipping.
4. Start on the last page. Animation goes from back to front.
5. Animation should move in very small amounts for better
animation.
6. Have fun and be creative!
