Soil filled gunny bags block water. Low cost app. Rs. 1800/10M length.
Lasts only for one season. The cost covers only gunny bags.
Everything else is through “Shramdaan.”
This can be used only if the water current is not very strong.

Farm Pond
Code-WAT/POND
For water for during Rabi season. No nearby River. the farmers dig a
farm pond & collect rain water to be used for flowers / vegetables during
Rabi season. Provide plastic sheet .6mx6mx2m deep Cost Rs 10,500. This
sheet can last for 5 years, farmer to replace at own cost.

Solar Lights
Codes- SOL/HOME & SOL/STLT
Villages in Jawhar/Mokhada with no electricity. Solar Electrification
2 LED bulbs and a Solar Panel on the roof costs Rs. 5000 per hut.
Street lights in the pada. Cost Rs. 19000 each.

Drinking water
Wells are far away from residential area. Ladies & children carry water
pots on their heads uphill for 1 to 2 Km.
Pump water to OH tank & supplying throughout
Cost varies from Rs. 3 to 5L depending on distance / height for which
water has to be lifted & no. of taps.

Biogas
Code- BIO/GAS*
Biogas plant prevents destruction of
forests for fuel, improves cleanliness &
hygiene by removal of cow dung from
streets, gives smokeless fuel for cooking,
gives natural fertilizer free of cost.
In bio gas plant, bacteria converts cow
dung to methane gas used as fuel.
Deenbandhu model of biogas plant requires low maintenance & Costs Rs 21000 for
gas output of 2 CuM/day. Out of this, the farmer can get Rs. 8000 as subsidy from
government

 Offer ready techno-financial blue prints of different projects
to Clubs interested in Community Service in the focus area of
Phase I.
 Focus combined efforts of Rotary Clubs of District 3140 and
other NGOs in the Ridge to Valley Watershed of Aadkhadak
Area of Surya Valley and making it a Showcase of Community
Service over next three years.
 Repeat the exercise, experience and expertise gained, to cover
the remaining parts of Jawhar and Mokhada.

An Earnest Appeal . . .
 So let us join hands and make the Rotary PRIDE valley the show
case of community service for the NGO’s across India through our
focused and concerted action.
 RC Thane North and RC Thane North End have offered to adopte
5 padas each from the valley.
 The PRIDE Committee appeals to all of you to take up rest of the
padas or take up assorted projects to bring transformation in the
lives of Tribals through total integrated development.
