Preterite
The preterite tense is a past tense. Used
to talk about already completed actions or
events.
Example: Yesterday, I went to the store. I
bought a Sprite, but I spilled it on the floor.
Regular Verbs
follow a pattern for conjugation.
Stem + Ending
How do you find the stem?
Drop the last two letters of the infinitive.
The remaining letters are the stem of the verb.

You choose the verb ending based on 2 factors:
1. Is the verb an -AR, -ER, or -IR verb?
2. Which pronoun does the verb need? Who is
doing the action?
