There will be pictures on the screen to help you understand the verbs and what’s happening in the new tense VERBOS CONOCIDOS • “Yo siempre bailaba” • “Me gustaba bailar” • “Emily y yo siempre bailábamos y mirábamos la televisión • “Yo estudiaba el español” • Yo trabajaba para un restaurante” EL IMPERFECTO The imperfect tense in Spanish is used to discuss actions in the past that: - Occurred repeatedly - I went to school every day - or occurred over an extended period of time - I used to dance often ** The imperfect tense implies that the past action did not have a definite beginning or end The imperfect can also be used to talk about: - Feelings or conditions - My sister was sad - or setting the stage for another past event. Conjugate the verbs on the bottom in the five forms listed in the columns UN JUEGO DE ARMADA • The game has the same rules as Battleship in English. When your partner cannot see your board, circle five conjugated verbs. These are your battleships. • One at a time, a your partner will guess where your battleships are located by verbally saying the subject pronoun and verb (example: Ellos bailaban) • If they guess a verb you circled, say “golpeado” (hit!). If they miss and guess an uncircled verb, say “agua”. The first partner to find all five battleships wins!
