CH3295: Understanding China
• Topics that will be discussed include Chinese
historical and cultural traditions, Chinese world
order, Chinese economy, and the legal system in
contemporary China.
• Suggested field activities include: visiting museums,
historical sites, observing religious rituals in temples
and attending local opera performances in China.
• Students are encouraged to re-think the continuity
between Chinese cultural and political traditions and
modernity, and the issues pertaining to the rise of
China.
