• National Seminar on Agro Exports
– Proposed to organise a National Seminar on Agro
Exports – Focus Karnataka. Had a discussion and
prepared the required background materials,
identified speakers, etc. Had a discussion with
University of Agricultural Sciences both at
Bangalore and Dharwad and also with
Department of Industries and Department of
Agriculture. All agencies prefer to organise the
same during the month of February, 2015 and
accordingly actions are being initiated.
Other Proposed Events
• Conclave on MSME, Bangalore
– With the active participation of all MSME
associations of Karnataka, it has been decided to
organise a Conclave on MSME in the month of
March, 2015 and communication in this regard
has already been initiated with various Industrial
Associations and feed back is very positive.
Diploma in International Trade
• Arrangements have been made with University of
Agricultural Sciences to provide their Alumni
Conference Hall facility at a subsidised cost to
conduct the course.
• Have made a request to Department of
Industries, GoK to provide Rs.25,000/- subsidy in
fees and the same included in their Export
Promotion Policy which would likely be released
in the month of Nov/Dec., 2014.
• Proposed to start the 6 months Diploma in the
Month of January, 2014.
Strategy for Membership Growth
• For the current financial year, a target has been fixed
to achieve 535 members
• For the year 2015-16, a target to reach 625
membership is being fixed.
– Remarks: Have moved with many Chambers and Associations. Their
main interest to explore overseas markets through FIEO with MDA
and wish to club their membership with their overseas tour. The
present grant being provided by the GoK is only Rs.75,000/- with its
limitations and the new Policy to be announced soon will provide a
grant of Rs.1,50,000/- which would include stall charges also and
these Chambers / Associations evinced their interest to become
members in the last quarter by paying their membership for the
current half year membership fee and for the full membership fee of
Rs.7.023/- for the year 2014-15. A sizeable membership is expected
through this route. From Hubli, Bijapur, Gulbarga and WACIA are
very keen for the same.
