Building Economic Resilience award: • Our bid consisted of 2 main themes - Personal Resilience and Business Resilience. • Whilst the lead for this project is clearly the Economic and Development Department (Tameside Business Family) the personal resilience element of the bid includes Welfare rights and Adult Social care as well as the various Regeneration partnerships. • An action plan with key outcomes is currently being worked on at senior management level together with a timeline of activity for Tameside MBC to support learning, peer to peer knowledge transfer and the spread of best practice and improvement via the national improvement infrastructure. • THIS ENABLES US TO SHARE WHAT WE DO OVER A WIDER AREA. BSF programme / Sustainable procurement: • The Business Family has developed a close and productive working relationship with Carillion and the Building Schools for the Future delivery team. We work in partnership to help maximise the local social and economic regeneration impacts in Tameside and are communicating local successes and good news stories. • This is opening up supply opportunities for Tameside Works First registered local businesses. • There are recycled materials from the programme being channelled into local Third Sector and Voluntary projects. • Carillion have also partnered the Business Family in organising and delivering development workshops for local SMEs to help them tender for current and future projects. Meet the Buyer event: • We have started planning for this major event and it will be targeted at matching sector based local purchasing requirements from both the private and public organisations to local provision and will be held at Stalybridge Market Hall in October 2010.
