The difference between the APS and the
Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA)
The PsyBA is the government-appointed regulatory body for
psychologists – “the registration board for psychologists”. It is
a separate organisation from the APS.
PsyBA functions include:
• Registration of psychologists and provisional psychologists,
including maintaining an online register of psychologists
• Handling notifications, complaints, investigations and
disciplinary hearings
