My Responses 1: I’m interested in focused literary studies, since I’ve recently found a special affection for the arts. I enjoy the work of Shakespeare and other famous artists. I have chosen this module of work to expand my thinking in the literary world. I know it is vast and would like to understand it more. When I was younger, I didn’t really enjoy plays and poetry, probably because I didn’t really understand what they meant before. Travelling forward in time, I started to understand it more, and I would love to hone my skills in this area of work. I love Don Juan by Lord Byron, not just the poem itself, but because it was included in the Phantom of the Opera, one of my favourite movies, and the great work by Gaston Leroux. 2: I’ve recently just started getting into literature more. Poems, novels, and plays. Still trying to grasp their impact. I’m currently saving up for the Greatest Works of Shakespeare in this bookstore I’ve found close to me. 3: I enjoy poetry, short stories, novels, drama, and plays. I haven’t gotten much into graphic novels and children’s literature. I’m more into the older works of literature. I don’t just want to read Shakespeare, but also some other underrated artists. 4: Genres I love include epic, romance, and satire poetry. I know there are other types and would like to explore them. I also enjoy romanticism, and the modern literature era. I admire Good vs. Evil, feminism, motherhood, courage, revenge, love and other themes. 5: I believe that I’ve told myself that I’m more towards expressing my writing than performing. I would love to perform my work if I had more friends willing to do so with me. 6: I know my writing is OK, it just needs refinement. Better grammar, I suppose, vocabulary, and essay writing needs to be more impactful. 7: Mainly, I get my ideas from other works of literature that I’ve read or seen before. However, I try to improve my creativity in my work. 8: I need my teacher to tell me what needs improvement, and what I can do to achieve that. Also identifying the strengths and how they can be refined and used for maximum impact. I look forward to the course and learning lots about Literature! Thank you, Ms. Rodas.
