Nursing I aspire to be a nurse because I have a strong desire to assist others. Because nursing combines my inherent empathy and desire to serve people, I believe it is the ideal method for me to impact the lives of others. The idea of having a beneficial effect on other people's lives, which I have the opportunity to do as a nurse, has always been something that has drawn me to this line of work. As a young child, I witnessed the positive influences that nurses have on other people's lives. The compassion and care they have for their patients has always touched me. I've always been moved by the little acts of compassion, like holding a patient's hand or offering supportive words. I believe that nurses have a special ability to impact people's lives in a positive way, and I want to do my part to help. Due to my passion for children and the critical shortage of Spanish-speaking nurses in specialty settings like the neonatal intensive care unit, my career objective is to become a pediatric nurse. I want to help gradually close the diversity gap in the medical profession. I want to help the disadvantaged, low-income, Spanish-speaking community by educating and caring for them. I know this from personal experience, having spent my entire childhood translating for my mother so she could understand everything my physicians said. Due to their inability to understand and articulate themselves, a lot of people experience this challenge, which prevents their problems from being resolved. I'm prepared to give it my all to make a difference since change is needed. In addition, I believe that nursing is a wonderful and altruistic profession. Nurses put their personal needs aside to care for their patients and ensure their safety and comfort. I greatly admire this kind of commitment to assisting others, and I hope to demonstrate it throughout my nursing career.
