Why I Want to Become a Nurse
Nursing has been my passionate dream, and helping people and changing individual
perspectives are vital in impacting others. My interest in nursing was further aroused by the
compassion and professionalism of the nurses I encountered, especially when my family faced
medical situations. Their compassionate ability to provide comfort, care for, and support patients
and families during difficult times left a profound impression on me.
Nursing represents a profession that allows me to combine my passion for science and
serving people. The ability to work closely with patients to understand their needs and contribute
to their healing is fulfilling. What most attracted me to nursing was a holistic approach where the
concern for the person's care extends beyond physical, mental, and emotional aspects. The
comprehensive approach of nurses brings an opportunity to value each patient with
compassionate concern, personalized care, dignity, and respect.
Moreover, I want to be part of a continuously developing profession with new challenges
that allow me to grow professionally and personally. Medical science is fast-evolving, and nurses
are right on the front line with this evolution in terms of implementation in patient care. This is
an opportunity to become a lifelong learner – to keep growing my knowledge while adapting to
new healthcare technologies, methodologies, and innovations. Growth in the nursing field is
encouraged and reasonably necessary to provide quality care.
Overall, I want to be a nurse who can bring change in a person's life and improve the
community through care provision with compassion during their times of vulnerability. Nursing
offers unique opportunities for giving comfort, strength, and hope to other people. I am
committed to dedicating my life to providing care, fostering healing, and promoting health in a
way that will make a difference.
