Quijano • Grade 6 - Miguel Malvar • The Risk of Online Games • To give awareness on how online games is dangerous for the health of a kid INTRODUCTION • Children have been playing more and more online games in recent years. Online gaming is not best for kids for a number of reasons, though. • DEFINITION OF TERMS Cyber - relating to or characteristic of the culture of computers, information technology, and virtual reality. Game - a form of play or sport, especially a competitive one played according to rules and decided by skill, strength, or luck. Online - available on or performed using the internet or other computer network. Online Games - refer to games that are played over some form of computer network, most often the Internet. BODY • Online gaming can refer to any type of game that someone can play through the Internet or over a computer network. Most of the time, it refers to video games played over the Internet, where multiple players are in different locations across the world. • Playing games online surely is fun having socialize to other person but this have risk on it side. Many cases of cyber bullying is circulating around. It is a bullying of a person online making fun of it that cause of many mental problem and can lead to death. According to Cook(2022) "a survey of over 2,000 adolescents found that over one-third experienced bullying in mobile games." • On the other online games give also a benefit for a one child. It can develop its decision making and improve its creativity in helps to complete the task in a game. However online games risk is more than to what you can benefit to it. • In a 2021 systematic review and meta-analysis, the global prevalence of gaming disorder was found to be 3.05%. That means there can be as many as 60 million people (or more) suffering from gaming disorder. CONCLUSION • To conclude, online games refer to games in internet.
